Tech Talk n°10 Why can't you build a structure with BCOLOUR?
Are you thinking of applying only a base layer to the nails, and to building structure with your BCOLOUR? DON’T! Because BCOLOUR is a COLOUR gel, not a BUILDER gel.
The function of Base and Builder Layer
Any colour gel should always be applied on top of the base and builder layer. This layer can be combined into one product using BFLEX or BSTRONG and it has three functions:
- To ensure proper adhesion to the nail plate
- To protect the nail plate from pigment stains
- To provide extra strength to the nail
Did you know?
1. BCOLOUR is a highly pigmented colour gel that covers perfectly in just one thin layer. So if you were to use more product to build extra structure to the nail, the colour layer would be too thick and simply wouldn’t cure. Even if you would cure the colour multiple times under the SMART LED lamp, it wouldn’t help!
2. Colour gels don’t provide the same strength that builder gel, like BFLEX or BSTRONG, do. Simply because colour gels don’t have the same chemistry as builder gels do. BCOLOURS gels contain a lot of pigments which are entangled in the polymerized colour and don’t have the same strength as builder gels. BCOLOURS are formulated to make the colour last and to avoid it from wearing off at the tip of the nail.
3. Applying colour directly to the nail plate should be avoided at all cost. Not only do you risk staining the nail plate, there is also a very high risk of damaging the nail plate during refill because you need to fIle down all the way to the nail plate every time.
